The project holds significant importance for Africa's green, low-carbon, and sustainable development.

On December 27, the Dakar Bus Rapid Transit Pilot Project, Senegal, constructed by CRBC, a subsidiary of CCCC, was inaugurated in Senegal. Prime Minister Amadou Ba attended the ceremony and cut the ribbon.
During the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Amadou Ba highlighted that the project is Africa's first electric BRT system and one of the most innovative energy transformation projects. The project not only effectively addresses Dakar's severe congestion and significantly reduces carbon emissions but also improves the cityscape and people's commuting experiences. With the project in operation, a more efficient, sustainable, and livable city will emerge.
The project traverses the most densely populated communities and core business districts of the capital of Senegal, reducing the commuting time from the suburbs to the city center from 90 minutes to 45 minutes.
The project, which started in November 2019, has a mainline length of 18.3 kilometers, with 23 enclosed stations. The daily carrying capacity is expected to reach 320,000 people. It will also achieve efficient transfers with the completed intercity trains, establishing a low-carbon and environmentally friendly modern public transit system. The project is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 1.2 million tons over the next 30 years, holding significant importance for Africa's green, low-carbon, and sustainable development.
Major Chinese and Senegalese media outlets, including CCTV, Xinhua News Agency, CGTN, and Senegal's APS, covered the inauguration ceremony.
