In the countries and regions along the Belt and Road Initiative, CCCC has built bridges, roads, ports, clean electricity facilities, and cities, contributing to the coordinated development of the local economy, society and people's livelihood. In the process, Chinese "mentors" have established strong friendship with their foreign mentees.
Serbia
Qin Liang, an engineer in the measurement department of the Novi Sad-Ruma Expressway project, has Boris as his first international mentee.
Initially, Boris had limited knowledge of engineering surveying and felt pressured about his future work. However, Qin Liang believed that this was conducive to instilling good surveying habits in him, demonstrating a more meticulous approach to his training.
"Based on my knowledge level, my mentor devised a learning plan that led to significant progress and rebuilt my confidence. He patiently taught me to use surveying software developed in China, making field surveying and layout work very convenient and efficient," said Boris excitedly.
Qin Liang said, "Boris is hardworking and has a strong learning ability. He patiently summarizes his work every day and diligently records new knowledge, which is commendable."
After spending considerable time with his mentor, Boris not only made remarkable progress in knowledge and skills but also developed a keen interest in Chinese cuisine. He expressed a strong desire to visit China in person and experience the development changes and super projects, such as the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, one of the "New Seven Wonders of the World."

Ren Jianwei, an electrical engineer on the Nam Lik 1-2 Hydropower Station in Laos, formed a mentor-mentee relationship with Lao employee Pusavath in September 2012.
To expedite Pusavath's operational proficiency, Ren Jianwei tailored a work plan, providing on-site explanations, practical demonstrations, and hands-on guidance. Today, Pusavath has become an independent electrical engineer capable of handling various equipment malfunctions, growing into the deputy head of the electrical team.
Expressing gratitude for his mentor, Pusavath always says with appreciation, "Thanks to the Chinese mentor for training and helping me, imparting skills, and helping me realize my value."

Gao Bin, the Liaison Manager of the East Coast Rail Link project in Malaysia, has been working in Malaysia since 2019, overseeing land acquisition, resettlement, approval applications, and public relations coordination. Faiz is Gao Bin's first mentee in charge of the public facility relocation.
To carry out relocation work effectively, Gao Bin patiently explained policies and procedures to relevant parties. His perseverance recently led to the successful completion of the power supply and residue field work for the Genting Tunnel. Faiz was deeply moved by his mentor's patience and perseverance.
"Faiz is intelligent and responsible. I hope that after the completion of the East Coast Rail Link, he can continue to contribute to the railway operation, making new and greater contributions to this road to prosperity that improves people's livelihood," said Gao Bin, expressing new hope for his mentee.

Wang Weidong has been working in Pakistan since 2007 and is currently the chief surveyor for the Greater Karachi Bulk Water Supply Scheme K-IV project. Local employee Badan is Wang Weidong's most promising mentee.
The mentor and mentee operate advanced Chinese surveying equipment with a Beidou positioning system, earning them the nickname "Beidou mentor-mentee" among colleagues.
When Wang Weidong questioned Badan during surveying work and received satisfactory answers, Badan proudly boasted in Chinese, "My eyes are the ruler!" Wang Weidong always smiles with satisfaction, giving his mentee a thumbs-up. The mentor and mentee embody the concept of mutual learning.

Ulan, a translator who began working at the Turgusun Hydropower Station in Kazakhstan in 2018, has transformed from a translator into a versatile worker.
Ulan attributes his growth to his efforts and, more importantly, the careful guidance of his Chinese mentor, Li Bin. Besides translation work, Teacher Li also guided him in learning every aspect of power station operation.
Ulan often tells his local friends that he is very grateful to his mentor. The construction of the Turgusun Hydropower Station has not only solved a significant employment problem for his hometown but also improved its environment.
